Automobile Press Club at high-speed crash test

Around 20 members of the Automobile Press Club were present at CTS for a company tour last Friday. Besides a tour of the company premises, a short presentation given by Dipl.-Ing. P. Schimmelpfennig on the range of action and current topics of CTS took place. To end the visit was a high-speed rear impact collision – car vs. truck – in which the participants were all impressively convinced by the acting forces of a collision.

VKS-meeting at crash test facility

Two days long, the crash test centre was in the hands of the Association of Independent Motor Vehicle Experts. Saturday was used to follow several guest lectures and to visit the exhibition stands which were set up in the hall. What’s more, also on Saturdays programme was a crash test – a crossroads collision at approx 80 km/h. The local fire department took advantage and used this directly as an exercise for training purposes and rescued the trapped vehicle occupants in front of nearly 100 seminar participants. On Sunday, the general meeting of the VKS took place in the smaller seminar room.
